FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 10, 2010
Westerville, OH and South Hill, VA (March 5, 2010) – Furthering its strategy of delivering outstanding cheerleading and dance events,
AmeriCheer, Inc. President and Founder, Elizabeth Rossetti, is pleased to announce that AmeriCheer, based in Westerville, OH, has acquired
Eastern Cheer and Dance Association (ECDA). ECDA, based in South Hill, VA, was founded by Janice Cutler and has been in operation since
1981.
United as one, AmeriCheer and ECDA are committed to promoting safety, self-confidence, and teamwork among its clients in order to mold
these aspiring athletes into tomorrow’s best cheerleaders and dancers. AmeriCheer and ECDA share similar core values and an excellent
reputation and have been independently successful in the industry for over 25 years.
“We wanted to join forces with a company that holds the same standards and philosophy as we do,” says Rossetti. “I have known Janice and
Kim for many years and have always had a great deal of respect for them both. We are confident that the collaboration of these two
companies will create the ultimate experience for both cheerleaders and dancers!”
This strategic partnership will strengthen the programs and brands while providing new opportunities for current and future clients. ECDA’s
customers will be able to take advantage of AmeriCheer’s valuable rewards program, Cheer Bucks and Dance Dollars, along with qualifying for
the All-American Spirit Team Specialty Events.
With a combined 54 years in the spirit industry, the melding of companies will prove to strengthen both brands and bring many new and
exciting ventures to the spirit industry. One such venture is the new DC Extreme National Championship to be held at the Gaylord National
Hotel and Convention Center in January 2011.
“When I first met Liz, she instantly became one of my favorite people in the industry,” said Kim Dornak, President of ECDA. “She and I have
formed a great friendship over the past several years, and it’s an honor for me to work with Liz and the rest of the amazing staff at
AmeriCheer.”
The goal of ECDA is to be “Family Friendly” and “Athlete Focused”. ECDA Championships concentrate on creating a dynamic experience and
providing exciting activities, not just for athletes and coaches, but for mom, dad, siblings, and other fans all while maintaining the highest
standards of industry excellence with regards to production, fair, balanced scoring and outstanding customer service. ECDA Summer Camps
put the athlete first – from safety training, to the most unique curriculum in the industry, to knowing YOUR name - it’s all about you. We want
athletes and fans alike to attend ECDA events, not because they have to, but because they want to. The ECDA office and headquarters will
remain in South Hill, Virginia with highly talented staff, who Dornak says are very excited about this venture.
The mission of AmeriCheer is to provide comprehensive instruction and competitive opportunities for young adults in a professional and
economical manner while serving as an advocate for interests of coaches, cheerleaders and dancers. Founded by Rossetti in 1987,
AmeriCheer, Inc. has grown to offer expert, year-round instruction to students ages three to 23.
To strengthen its influence on the youth market, AmeriCheer is the parent company to AmeriDance, an instructional and competitive dance
company, and Victory Wear, an apparel company. The addition of AmeriDance and Victory Wear, coupled with extensive print, television and
internet marketing campaigns, make AmeriCheer a recognized force in the lives of teenagers across the country.
AmeriCheer administers over 60 exciting competitions and 200 educational summer camps each year throughout the United States. The
AmeriCheer InterNational Championship competition is held every March at the Walt Disney World® Resort in Orlando, Florida. This exciting
event attracts over 4,000 competitors and 8,000 spectators annually!
